SAAMOORAM: DISCOVERING AND SHARING THE CULTURES OF INDIVIDUALS
SAAMOORAM is a project for a complex cultural space by artist Lee Chan-hyuk. This space consists of a total of 5 floors, and each floor consists of various contents. 1F is a dining & wine bar and 2F is a coffee space; while the other floors 3F, 4F are used as studios for art and music artists’ creative spaces. We focused on the meaning of ‘locker’(which is “saamooram” in Korean) and imagined creators expressing their creativity within every single room in this space. So, we designed the space identity by arranging each letter one by one in one square. These are connected like a puzzle or cube game and used as a system for overall space design and package design.
